I found this great write up on breath marks in Finale. They have been a major pain as I’ve been doing copywork for others. This article suggests creating 2 expressions for end-of-bar breath marks and in-bar breath marks instead of using the articulation. The main concept is that the former has its horizontal alignment point as the right barline and can be placed anywhere in the measure. The latter should be assigned to the stem of the next note and have an offset of 2.

This is a bit different than the normal Finale Tip format that I usually do, but thought it was such a useful article, I had to post it!
